OUR FIRST AND FOREMOST PURPOSE...MASONIC FUNERAL RITUAL SERVICES
The Grand Guard International was founded  to assist the local lodges in putting on Masonic Funeral Services.  The Grand Guard members will meet and practice under the supervision of those who are presently holding Masonic Funeral Services in their area. The goal is to perfect the Funeral Service Ritual and make it a very impressive service for the families of our departed brethren. It will require a good memory and a good delivery that emphasize the message of the service for those who hear it.  We do not want the funeral service to sound like it is being recited from a book or just memorized. We plan to make it a great presentation.

The Main and authoritive group formed in any Masonic Jurisdiction will be a Division. The Division's first groups will be a Funeral Ritual Groups who attend the District's funeral ritual instruction meetings from each of their Masonic Districts of that jurisdiction.  These funeral groups will assist in putting on Masonic Funeral Services under the direct supervision of those holding the services in that district. When the Funeral Ritual groups are operating and performing funeral ritual under the direct supervision of those holding funeral services in their district, the first purpose of the Grand Guard International will be fulfilled. In continuance of this first purpose, the Grand Guard International Funeral Ritual Groups will continue to recruit Masons to join their funeral ritual groups from all districts of  the jurisdiction  to assist those holding funeral services in their districts perform impressive Funeral Ritual Services. Our goal is to have enough funeral ritual groups to present an impressive ceremony and have a memorable attendance at each Masonic Funeral Service. Our second goal is to have a Grand Guard International Funeral Ritual Group assisting the funeral ritualists in each and every district of the jurisdiction.

THE SECOND PURPOSE OF THE GRAND GUARD INTERNATIONAL...HAVING FUN
The Grand Guard International,  once at least three (3) funeral ritual groups are operating in a Division, will then begin forming groups of brethren based on their hobbies, such as gun collectors, hunters, fishermen, hot rods and car clubs, boat owners, motorcycle riders, sports teams, and any other groups based on hobbies.  Any hobby supported by three or more Masons is welcome t become a Grand Guard Group.

Each Grand Guard International Division is organized within the boundaries of the Masonic Jurisdiction they are a member of, the groups member may be a member of any Masonic district in the jurisdiction and must comply with the Masonic Law of their jurisdiction and the Constitution and bylaws of the Grand Guard International.

The Grand Guard International is operated on an international basis with the Division being Grand Guard International authority in their jurisdiction, under the approval of the international, pertaining to all Grand Guard International works. These Divisions will organize and authorize affiliated hobby groups, under the governing of the Grand Guard International Constitution and Bylaws.  Each Division shall create as many hobby groups as it demes necessary to fulfil its purposes.

PRIORITIES
The  first and foremost purpose, and PRIORITY of the Grand Guard International is to assist, under the supervision of the craft lodges, in providing impressive Masonic Funeral Services.  No other ideals shall supersede or take PRIORITY over this first purpose.

When we are not performing or practicing Masonic funeral services for our departed brethren, we have a second purpose of joining together to have fun and fellowship within our hobby groups.  The Hobby Groups will raise our operating funds and funds for to support the Shriner's Children's Hospitals, however, regardless of how busy we may be with our hobbies or fund raising, when a funeral service is needed, the funeral service becomes our number one priority. No other fundraising purpose should replace,  or circumvent the fundraising for the Shriner's Children's Hospitals.
